“We contracted Robert McCloy’s Stringtown Trio for our wedding on Mackinac Island. They provided music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. They were so great that we asked them to stay an extra three hours until the last ferry back to the mainland.
The music style was a Celtic/bluegrass mix and it worked perfectly for our wedding. They learned a number of pieces at our request and made an especially beautiful arrangement of “Da Slockit Light – Shetland Air” for the bridal procession. The music was always appropriate for the atmosphere and the acoustics were balanced perfectly for the outdoor setting. There were a lot of children at our wedding and we got some adorable pictures of them dancing with the bridesmaids in front of the band.
Robert also performed a number of MC items for us: introduction of the wedding party, announcements, crowd control, etc… The band was on time, professional, and reacted gracefully to a few unexpected events/changes in schedule.
I can’t recommend this band enough, our wedding would not have been the same without them. We received so many compliments on the music. Hire them for you wedding and you can remove “music” from your list of things to worry about.
Yes, it was an incredible time. I don’t remember if I told you (I really hope I did), but we had so many compliments about the music. Even close to a year later, the music is one of the first things that comes up when people talk about our wedding.”
