July 16 and 17.

July 16 started with an 11:30 AM wedding at the English Inn, Eaton Rapids Michigan working with Saxophone virtuoso Gary Clavette. Processionals were “Unchained Melody” and “Endless Love”. Recessional was “Keeper of the Stars”. All 3 were special requests learned for that wedding – which is not unusual.

In the afternoon/early evening I worked a solo guitar ceremony in Mt. Pleasant. Processionals were traditional: “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and “Canon in D”. Recessional: “Here Comes the Sun”. For their reception I was joined by Pooh Stevenson – mandolin, Drew Howard – Dobro and guitar, and myself – guitar, fiddle – Stringtown Trio. We did several requests for their special dances. Couple’s first dance – “January Wedding”, “I Loved Her First” – bride/father dance, and “I Will” – groom/mother dance. Again, all 3 were special requests.

On 7/27, I received the following review from the Mt. Pleasant client, Katie:

“We recently hired Robert (both as a solo guitar and with his Stringtown Trio band) to perform for our outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. He was excellent to work with and communicated wonderfully via email responding to all of my questions and requests leading up to the wedding. He even was willing to learn a new song request for our first dance. He showed up early, was very professional, and did all that I had asked of him during the evening. It was one part of my night that was completely worry-free, and so many guests commented that it really suited the garden-party mood that we were going for. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for delightful guitar music for a wedding ceremony, or live background music for a reception dinner.”
