It’s been a busy few weeks
July 23: Wedding ceremony @ St. Anne’s Church on Mackinac Island. Solo guitar. In addition to processional/recessional music I provided accompaniment for 2 hymns sung by the guests.
Aug 28 – I received this review from Shannon, July 23rd bride today via Wedding Wire – a fun amendment to my mention of guests singing hymns:
“I would definitely recommend Robert McCloy if you are looking for an excellent acoustic guitarist for your wedding. He was on time, extremely professional, and very easy to work with. He really knows what he is doing. During our hymns, we all messed up the rhythms when singing, so I was highly impressed when Robert quickly adjusted his playing to our mistake! He truly is the best!”
July 24: Wedding ceremony @ The English Inn in Eaton Rapids. Solo guitar. Prelude, processionals, and recessional were all Disney favorites

July 29: Felt Mansion, Saugatuck, MI. Solo guitar wedding ceremony, cocktail, and dinner music. Processional: Bach Prelude (from Cello Suite), recessional: “Concerning Hobbits”. For the reception, I was joined by Gary Clavette (sax & flute) and John Dewey, Violin. We played jazz standards, arrangements of pop and show tunes, Motown, Blues, and more.

That was phun 🙂 A great day at the Felt Mansion in Saugatuck. Thank you for the opportunity to work with the guitar/violin/sax trio. We do not get to do that enough.
Re: crossing paths again someday – hoping to play at your children’s wedding!! 🙂 Everyone in my family pushes 100 yrs of life, so I expect to be at this for a while. I love what I do, and plan on keep on keeping on.

“Weddings are stressful and full of indecision, at least mine was, but choosing Robert McCloy to play our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (he was accompanied by two additional musicians to form a jazz trio for the reception who were also FANTASTIC!), was the best decision we made in planning our special day. July 30: Solo guitar wedding ceremony and cocktails. Ceremony was on Lake Michigan Beach, cocktails were at Holiday Inn in Spring Lake, MI.
